Our journey to the Arenal volcano

After our little five-hour trip from San Jose to la Fortuna on what must be the world’s worst roads, we finally settled down at our cozy little hotel Mountain Paradise. When we were unpacked and ready the next morning, we set to see the Arenal volcano. When we arrived we started basking in the spectacular view of the volcano, but, to our disappointment, the top of the volcano was all cloudy (it stayed like this all week) so we could not see the really cool view of a actual volcano’s top. Then we had a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant.

When we were done eating we set of for a butterfly museum that we saw a sign for on the way to the volcano.

After a long drive, we were almost there when we saw a sign for a snaketorium I instantly decided to go there instead of the butterfly museum.

Our trip to San Jose, Costa Rica

At one o’clock in the morning July 30th, 2009 me and my family set off for Costa Rica. I went to bed at 8 o’clock and did not sleep a wink. At one o’clock we set off to Boston to catch a flight to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. When we landed some people got of the the plane (not including us) and some more got on then we took off to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where we boarded a connection flight to Costa Rica.

When we landed we picked up our bags and took a shuttle to Thrifty, our car rental service where I met Recardo, we had so much in common we instantly became friends. It was for the good because we were going to meet him not once, but twice more in Costa Rica again. After meeting him and his family, we set off with our “Be Go” ( which it wasn't, it was a different car which had a much smaller engine with the original car’s name scraped off and a Be Go sticker put on, it was a horrible thing that we didn’t notice because as we were soon going to find out, we definitely needed that extra power on Costa Rica’s roads) and road to the nearest Denny’s and had breakfast because we were starving...

After filling up on pancakes and bacon, we set off for La Fortuna, it would be long and grueling journey that would test us to our limits and bring us to the breaking point.
